I'm excited this evening, because I've got more projects to work on. okay, I know that I've already got a ton of them that I've gotten nowhere with over the last while, but this is changing as of NOW. I just have to change it, so I am. at least, now I
feel motivated to do so.
first of all, I'm using today to catch up on at least one of the site designs that's been lagging behind during my ineffectiveness (I'm just here for a break, hehe). tomorrow will be used for this purpose also, as well as catching up on more housework.
but tonight - later, when the house is quiet again - I'm going to take a break to catch up on some recording. I've got one vocal I've been trying forever to get to re-recording for
Peter - ink1, so that comes first. the initial recording of this vocal was a bit 'off' in ways, so a re-recording with change of words is in order, and has been on order for ages (patient Peter!).
next up is a request from my mate
Michael to do a vocal for a new track for his project
2AG - a collaboration between M & his friend Ray Firing. I'm looking forward to getting into this one... very evocative music - Michael makes such wonderful, atmospheric noise! I mentioned here when I
featured Michael's music that we've done a track together prior to ink1, called
Silence (3.43 mb, 2:59 - click to listen, or right-click/save target as to download); what with one thing and another, this new vocal for 2AG will be the first I've done (on purpose) for Michael since Silence. oh... not quite true, I did something for his Valium track, but that was a while back now.
as for the newest project, I got home last night to an email from Jean-Marc, aka our friend
Djox. he's invited me to do vocals for two of his tracks, and I've agreed. I'm really looking forward to getting into these tracks as well because Jean-Marc makes some very cool sounds, electronic but fitting into various genres, or mix of same. it's yet another chance to stretch myself creatively, because the music demands its own specific approach. and besides, Jean-Marc is just so talented... I am flattered & feel honoured to be invited to do vocals for any of his work.
so, more on those projects as they happen, but I am pleased and looking forward to be working on them all.
for now, though, I must get me arse in gear, back to designer/mother-who-needs-to-get-kidlet-a-snack mode. hmmm... I wonder if Peter's around for a chat, tonight? hahaha, ever the procrastinator.
okay, I'm outta here :).
